Privacy policy

Your files never leave your device, and we store nothing about you. We only count how often the tools are used, in anonymous daily totals that anyone can see on the usage stats page.

Your files and what you type

Every tool runs inside your web browser, on your own device. Files you choose are read by your browser and are never uploaded to fibub or anyone else. The smaller file is made on your device and saved straight from it. We never see, store, share or use your files, their names or their contents. You can check this yourself: open a tool, switch off your internet, and it keeps working.

What we count

When a tool finishes, your browser sends one anonymous note so we can see which tools are useful and fix what fails. It contains only:

  • which tool was used, the kind of file (for example "PDF") and a size range (for example "1 to 5 MB")
  • whether it worked, and how much smaller the file became
  • the type of device (phone, tablet or computer), operating system and browser name
  • the country, worked out by our host from the connection; the IP address itself is never stored

Each note is added straight into a daily total and then discarded, so no single visit can be picked out later. We do not record the time of day, and we do not use cookies, visitor IDs, fingerprinting or any way to recognise you when you come back. The daily totals are published openly on the usage stats page and in the site's public code repository.

Cookies and storage

fibub sets no cookies. Some tools may keep your settings in your browser's own storage on your device, never sent to us; clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Our host

The site is served by Cloudflare, which protects it from attacks. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver pages and may keep short-lived security logs under its own privacy policy. We do not use those logs to track anyone.

Advertising

fibub shows no ads today. If that changes, this page will be updated first, and pages that handle your files will stay free of ad code.

Children

fibub collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal information about you, there is nothing for us to give back, correct or delete. If you have a question about privacy, including under Canada's PIPEDA, Quebec's Law 25, the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, India's DPDP Act or the privacy laws of the Gulf states, contact us.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
